99g/km Mazda3 for Geneva

Mazda3Mazda is introducing a new 99g/km SKYACTIV-D 1.5-powered version of the Mazda3 at the Geneva Motor Show in March, which the company says will be the most fuel-efficient version of its bestselling model ever offered in Europe.

The latest edition of the lightweight diesel power plant is designed to offer a faster, more linear engine response to accelerator input and has new dynamic dampers built into each piston for a smoother, quieter engine. Unveiled in Geneva in 2014, the SKYACTIV-D 1.5 is already available in the Mazda2 and Mazda CX-3.

The company will also show the Mazda RX-Vision concept, hinting at the possible future of its line of rotary-engined cars.
