Vehicle recall – smart fortwo and forfour – 2018 to 2019

The fortwo and forfour has been recalled by smart under reference R/2020/195 (SRS2001), as the software for the advanced emergency braking system may not meet the correct specification.

Updated all-electric smart EQ range goes on sale

The new smart EQ range is now on sale, with prices starting from £16,850 for the smart fortwo coupé (including PICG grant of £3,500; total price £20,350 excluding grant). The forfour is priced from £17,285 (£20,785 excluding grant), and the fortwo cabriolet starts at £20,420 (£23,920 excluding grant).

Daimler AG (Daimler) and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding), the German and Chinese automotive groups, have announced the formation of a 50-50 joint venture to own, operate and further develop Smart, the pioneer of small urban vehicles, as “a leader in premium-electrified vehicles”.

Smart goes electric in Paris

Smart will show off electric versions of all of its cars at this month’s Paris Motor Show, including, for the first time, the four-door smart forfour.
