Ford has achieved a landmark double victory in the Arctic Van Test – one of the most gruelling tests of vehicle performance on the planet.
The all-new Ford Transit Connect is named “International Van of the Year 2014” at the COMTRANS commercial vehicle exhibition in Moscow as Ford becomes the first single manufacturer to win the award for two consecutive years.
The all-new Ford Transit Connect, launched later this year, will offer best-in-class fuel efficiency, with the Transit Connect ECOnetic model delivering a 34 per cent improvement versus the current model.
Ford’s all-new Transit Connect offers van operators class-leading fuel economy, load carrying ability and durability – and is available to order for late 2013 delivery.
Ford Transit Connect customers can now benefit from improved fuel economy and lower emissions by choosing the new 1.8-litre Ford Duratorq TDCi engine 89bhp or 109bhp option that exceeds the new Euro Stage V emission requirements.
Ford’s global electric vehicles plan is benefitting from participation in the UK Government’s “Ultra-Low Carbon Vehicle Demonstrator” programme. Ford’s European electrification programme announced in March sees the introduction of two zero-emission full battery-electric vehicles.
