Toyota Camry hybrid available this summer from £29,995
The Toyota Camry hybrid saloon is set to return to the UK this summer. The new car uses Toyota’s New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. In anticipation of the Camry’s arrival, Toyota has announced prices and outline equipment specifications for the new line-up. The eighth generation of the world’s best-selling upper medium saloon will be exclusively a hybrid model in the UK.
Nissan Leaf sales top 400,000
The Nissan Leaf has become the first electric car in history to surpass 400,000 sales. Nissan says that Leaf owners have driven their cars more than 10 billion kilometres (over six billion miles) in total. The number of Leaf vehicles sold since 2010 is enough to save an estimated 3.8 million barrels of oil a year
New diesel engines for the Mercedes Vito
Mercedes-Benz Vans is introducing a series of improvements for its contender in the mid-size vans segment. Among the highlights are high-torque four-cylinder diesel engines for the Vito Tourer with passenger car approval. Mercedes says that in comparison to the predecessor, the new OM 654 engine range reduces emissions and consumption values whilst also optimising noise and vibration comfort. The power units, already familiar from the Mercedes-Benz passenger car range, will see their first ever usage in a commercial vehicle at Mercedes-Benz Vans.
Mercedes CLA Coupé goes on sale
The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupé is now on sale, with prices starting from £30,550 for the entry-level CLA 180 AMG Line. All models will be initially available with a 7G-DCT seven-speed automatic transmission, with a manual gearbox coming later. The diesel-powered CLA 200 d and CLA 220 d will also be added to the line-up later in the year. The CLA Shooting Brake was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and will be going on sale in May
