VW is a brand that’s loved the world over. From the ‘bus to the Beetle to the Bora, Volkswagen is arguably the most iconic German brand. Perhaps no other brand lives up to its name, ‘people’s car’ any better. Here’s Diesel Car’s top three Volkswagens.
You couldn’t have a list of top VWs without the Beetle. Though the original long-running Bug did without diesel power, the modern version offers a range of diesel engine options. Classic looks and those great VW diesel engines? What’s not to like.
2. California Camper
VW and camper vans go together like bread and butter. VW arguably kicked off the craze for camper van conversions and today’s California continues that trend. It’s not cheap but if you’ve got deep pockets, the California could be the camper for you.
Volkswagen has a habit of creating icons. We’ve already mentioned the Beetle and the Camper, but the Golf is every bit as big as its illustrious ancestors. Today’s Golf is one of the best-built hatchbacks on the market and remains the standard by which many of its rivals are measured. It might not be the most exciting car in the world to drive, but it’s one of the best all round packages.
