Motor shows are great for car fans. New metal, fresh facelifts and crazy concepts, it’s all at the motor show. Now that the dust and hype from the most recent motorshow in Frankfurt has settled, Diesel Car takes a minute to pick out its top five Frankfurt Favourites.
The Citroen Cactus offers an interesting glimpse into Citroen’s future. With its hybrid air drive train, Citroen is claiming 94.1mpg, with a smart, stylish interior. Citroen says that it’s removed everything superfluous from the Cactus, despite that it doesn’t feel plain or paired back. It’s everything a concept car should be.
Ford S-MAX Concept
Ford’s S-Max MPV won plenty of praise from families and drivers alike. Combining impressive practicality with chassis dynamics to entertain even the most demanding driver. The S-Max concept adds a sleek new body to the formula, it’s sure to be hit with Mums and Dads up and down the land.
Jaguar C-X17 Concept
A Jaguar SUV has long been rumoured, so it was little surprise when Jaguar revealed the C-X17. An interesting mix of Jaguar’s current styling cues with an SUV body it will be interesting to see how a Jaguar SUV will retain Jaguar’s sporting DNA without treading on stablemate Land Rover’s toes.
With its impressive styling the Mazda6 took a lot of people by surprise. Its baby brother, the Mazda3 looks set to continue that trend. With the 3 there’s a lot more than just good looks, it’s backed up by Mazda’s SkyActiv diesel boasting a great combination of power and fuel economy. If it drives as good as it looks, Mazda could be onto a winner.
SEAT Leon ST
The SEAT Leon is a great choice for anyone looking for a great sports hatchback. With the announcement of an estate at the 2013 Frankfurt the Spanish carmaker had added even more practicality to the Leon range. With engines offering up to 182bhp the ST more than lives up the performance level a SEAT should offer.
