Esso changes fuel formula

Esso has changed the formulation of its petrol and diesel fuels with an enhanced additive package, which can help provide improved engine responsiveness and clean vital engine parts when compared to standard fuels.

Motorists filling up with Esso energy petrol or diesel at the majority of Esso’s 900 branded service stations around the country will be using fuels developed to help improve car engine responsiveness and help clean vital engine parts by removing harmful deposits from petrol intake valves and diesel fuel injectors.  Together these improvements offer motorists the prospect of a smoother-running engine with improved fuel economy and reduced emissions.

“Esso is committed to continuous improvement to enhance the quality of our fuels, addressing evolving engine technology and consumer needs,” explained Dr. Karen Dickens, UK and Ireland Fuels Marketing Director.  “We are proud of our latest generation of Esso energy fuels which can help improve fuel economy and engine responsiveness, protect against engine corrosion and clean vital engine parts.”

The launch will be backed by a major promotional campaign involving advertising, a dedicated website (www.fuelprogress.com) and point of sale materials. Esso is one of the largest transport fuel retailers in the UK, serving around one million customers every day from more than 900 service stations, 365 days of the year.  Esso has more than a century of heritage in supplying high quality fuels to UK consumers.  It was the first UK retailer to sell unleaded petrol, the first major oil company to sell lead replacement petrol and also led the industry in making ultra low sulphur diesel and ultra low sulphur petrol available nationwide.  It has recently introduced new Esso Supreme Diesel to its product range at selected sites in the UK.  The company also sells fuels and lubricants to industrial, aviation and marine customers.
