Both models feature new styling enhancements that commemorate the world’s biggest sporting event, including distinctive and dynamic Go! badging and dark exterior elements that complement the available exterior colours: Creamy White and Phantom Black for ix35 and Creamy White, Sleek Silver and Steel Grey on the i30. A heightened specification, including equipment unavailable on other ix35 and i30 models, adds significant further value.
Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor UK, commented: “We are delighted to be the Official Partner of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and these new special edition models are the ideal way to kick-off our preparations and to deliver great value to our customers.”
The new ix35 special edition models both utilise the most popular drivetrain available, comprising the efficient and smooth 1.7 CRDi diesel engine, 2WD transmission and six-speed manual gearbox.
The ix35 Go! adds more than £1,500 of equipment to the specification of the ix35 SE on which it is based for a £650 premium. Added features include 18” alloy wheels, panorama sunroof and privacy glass. The ix35Go! SE is based on the well-equipped ix35 Premium Panorama, adding equipment such as heated steering wheel, front parking sensors and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System with individual low tyre pressure warning. The Go! SE is priced at £650 less than the model on which it is based, while adding more than £800 in specification.
Both special edition models feature black gloss door mirrors and Go! badges on the door pillars. Just 550 units of the ix35 Go! will be made available, priced at £20,750 OTR; only 150 units of the ix35 Go! SE will be available, priced at £23,000 OTR.
Also available are the i30 Go! SE and Go! SE Panorama editions – based on the 5-door hatchback. The Go! SE will be available on the 1.4 100PS petrol and the 1.6 CRDi 108bhp diesel derivatives from £16,000 OTR whilst the Go! SE Panorama is available on the 1.6 CRDi 108bhp diesel variants from £17,300 OTR. All will feature the 6-speed manual transmission only.
Both the Go! SE and Go! SE Panorama models will be available with the Go! Badge, alloy wheels, electric folding black gloss exterior door mirrors with integral LED indicators, privacy glass, anti-trap mechanism on all electric windows and LED tail lights. The Go! SE Panorama benefits from panoramic sunroof and 17” alloy wheels.
These new special edition models will raise awareness of Hyundai Motor’s long-standing partnership with FIFA in the lead-up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Hyundai’s relationship with international football began in 1999 and Hyundai has committed to maintain its role as official Automotive Partner of FIFA until 2022.
