Using Layar, an augmented reality application which can easily be downloaded onto smart phones, the reader simply scans one of the AR logos – similar to a QR code – which appear throughout the latest issue of Eureka. The AR content supplements the printed Eureka article introducing Kia customers to the new special edition cee’d ‘VR7’ by offering a short video showing its key features, linking through to the ‘VR7’ page on the Kia website and also enabling readers to find their nearest Kia dealership or to request a test drive.
The ‘VR7’ range is available across five models: Picanto, Rio, cee’d, cee’d Sportswagon and pro_cee’d. The ‘VR7’ range offers superb standard features including air conditioning, a leather trimmed steering wheel and gearshift, Bluetooth with music streaming and USB & AUX ports. Other features such as alloy wheels, reversing sensors, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors and electric front windows are also included.
The Augmented Reality app allows Kia customers to view the digital content directly on their phone for convenience when on the move. Kia hope to continue to use AR across other platforms in the future.
