Guy Jones, Sales and Marketing Director of MG Motor UK issued the following statement:-
As part of SAIC (China’s largest automotive group), there has recently been significant investment in the world famous MG brand, including the launch of an all new model.
At this important time, it is essential that we able to clearly promote the MG brand without any confusion. We wanted to resolve this dispute as quickly as possible, to enable us to move forwards with exciting plans for the business.
In the UK we are currently selling the latest versions of the iconic TF sports car, built in the Birmingham factory and also preparing to assemble the all new MG6 later this year. This decision allows us to focus on the promotion of these products without any issues and to build a bright future for the MG brand in the UK and globally.”
