The group held the fundraiser at the Mitsubishi Specialist Vehicle Operations (MSVO) centre at Love Lane Industrial Estate, Cirencester, on Saturday, July 5th, to add to the money they are raising for this year’s Race for Life at Cirencester Park on July 20th.
Motorists enjoyed tea, coffee and home-made cakes while they waited for their vehicles to be cleaned inside and out and a total of £344 was raised on the day for Cancer Research UK.
Verity May, PA to the MD of the company Lance Bradley, who organised the team, said: “We’re so pleased with how the car wash went. It was a great day and we’re really grateful to the support from the people of Cirencester. So many people turned up to have their cars cleaned and helped raise money for a worthy cause. We were certainly kept busy and we’d like to thank everyone who supported us by making cakes or donating buckets and sponges.”
Mitsubishi’s fleet of heritage vehicles, including the Tommy Makinen Edition Lancer Evolution VI, 1986 Starion Turbo 2.0 ‘Wide Body’ and the Model A, were also on display as part of the celebrations of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK’s 40th anniversary.
This will be the second year running the Mitsubishi team has taken part in the annual Race for Life and the 11 women from the headquarters at Watermoor, Cirencester, are hoping to beat the £1,600 they raised last year.
The staff from the Cirencester headquarters taking part along with Verity are: Fleet and Used Car Administrator Allison May; Payroll Advisor Sarah Wiltshire; Secretary to GM Product Planning and Incentives Amanda Thompson; PA to the MD of finance Mitsubishi Jo Johnson; Deputy General Council Carolyn Stephenson; Network Administrator Julie Smith; Inventory Order Controller Lucy Cuss; Production Controller Becky Beasley; Receptionist Justine Hitchman and Training Apprentice Administrator Erika Slater.
Michelle Leighton, Cirencester Event Manager for Race for Life said: “It’s fantastic that the ladies at Mitsubishi are taking part in Cirencester again this year – we really appreciate their continued support. With their fundraising from last year and this year’s ambition to raise more, their contribution to Cancer Research UK will be really appreciated.”
The team will be putting their best foot forward along with five of their friends and family. To sponsor them go to www.justgiving.com/team-mitsubishi4/
