Since it was launched in April this year, the Outlander PHEV has received exceedingly high levels of interest. In fact, the first arrivals into the UK in May and June were sold before the ships arrived. We are delighted to confirm that production allocated to the UK will meet this high level of demand.
The Outlander PHEV is a full-sized family 4×4 SUV. It uses both electric and petrol power to propel itself. Unlike many other traditional hybrid vehicles, the Outlander PHEV can travel a long way without using any petrol, 32.5 miles in fact. Such an impressive electric range gives the vehicle phenomenal environmental credentials. It emits just 44g/km of CO2 and the official combined fuel consumption figure is 148mpg.
These environmental credentials mean that Outlander PHEV drivers are ultra kind to the environment. They also benefit financially, paying no vehicle excise duty (road tax) or London Congestion Charge and the car qualifies for the Government’s £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant (P-iCG). For company car drivers Outlander PHEV attracts just 5% Benefit in Kind (BIK), saving the driver £8,216 over three years compared to a similar size 4×4 SUV.
Toby Marshall, Sales and Marketing Director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said:
“We anticipated that demand for Outlander PHEV would be high in the UK and have ensured that we have ordered enough stock to meet this demand.
The car appeals to a wide cross-section of private individuals and business users, with its combination of innovation, style and technology.”
The Outlander PHEV prices range from £28,249 to £34,999 (post-grant) and test drives are available from all Mitsubishi Motors dealers.
