This incredible monthly payment is for customers who decide to buy an entry-level LEAF Visia at just £15,990 (after receipt of the Government’s £5,000 plug-in grant) on the “Flex” battery lease scheme, and includes the cost of the monthly battery lease.
Built in Britain, the second generation of the world’s bestselling all-electric car features more than 100 improvements over its predecessor – including an extended range and faster charging times – but with three new trim grades and a flexible new pricing structure, getting behind the wheel is more affordable than ever.
Under LEAF Flex, the battery leasing arrangement is conveniently built-in to the financing package, bringing prices down and making monthly payments more manageable.
After a £4,083 customer deposit and a Nissan contribution of £1600, a LEAF Visia Flex customer pays 36 monthly payments of £119, plus £70 per month for the monthly battery lease on a 7,500 miles-per-annum contract. At the end of the three-year term, they either make a one-off final payment of £7905 to complete the purchase of the car and continue to pay the monthly battery lease for as long as they retain ownership, or hand back the vehicle.
With the same deposit, the LEAF Flex battery lease scheme brings the monthly cost of the LEAF Acenta down to £239 and the highly equipped LEAF Tekna to £289.
Those choosing to buy the car with the battery included using the PCP financing option will pay the same deposit followed by 36 monthly payments of £229 for the Visia, £279 for the Acenta, and £329 for the LEAF Tekna. At the end of the three-year term, they either hand back the keys or make a one-off final payment to complete the purchase, with no further battery leasing payments required.
Customers buying a LEAF outright will find prices are now even more attractive. The entry-level LEAF Visia can be driven away for just £20,990 after the £5,000 Plug-In Car Grant, while the higher specification LEAF Acenta is available for £23,490 on-the-road and the range-topping LEAF Tekna – which features a sumptuous leather interior and a state-of-the-art Bose sound system – is keenly priced at £25,490.
All in all that means many more drivers will be able to enjoy the exceptional benefits of zero-emission motoring offered by the trailblazing LEAF. These include running costs of just two pence per mile, exemption from Vehicle Excise Duty and, for drivers in and around London, freedom from the £10 a day levy to drive in the capital.
What’s more, the introduction of three distinct trim levels and an array of options now give LEAF buyers the same choice and flexibility as those opting for any conventionally-powered family hatchback.
Jon Pollock, Sales Director at Nissan Motor (GB) Limited, said: “We’re expecting the new LEAF to be a big hit with UK motorists. The car itself is vastly improved on the already impressive original, but the new pricing structure makes the LEAF an even more attractive option.
“When you factor in fuel savings plus exemption from road tax and the London congestion charge it’s clear to see that making the switch to a LEAF could very quickly pay for itself.”
