Celtic Mitsubishi, of Victoria Road, Kingsbridge, Gorseinon, lent Scamper Holidays owner Mark Bowlson an Outlander GX4 diesel when he said he needed something rugged and reliable for a few days in which to ferry people around.
The “glamping’ holiday firm is based in the stunning Gower, offering luxury camping holidays in a rural environment, and Sian Lloyd was staying there to research a forthcoming feature on the best places to stay for rural holidays, to be published by the Daily Mail and the Huffington Post, while the production company Blinkink was there to shoot a commercial for Kleenex.
Celtic Mitsubishi owner Phil Reason said: ‘Mark was an existing customer of ours and said he needed a competent vehicle to transport the TV crew and Sian Lloyd. We were very happy to do it and happy to help. Scamper Holidays deals with high-profile customers. It’s a luxury camping environment that is well known locally. It’s got a good reputation and is a nice place to be associated with.’
Mark said: ‘It was really good of Phil to lend us the Outlander – it fitted the bill perfectly and it was very successful. It just struck me that it would be good if we could work together with Mitsubishi to see if opportunities could be created that would help both sides.’
Ideas for the future include short holiday stays for Mitsubishi staff and customers, as well as opening up its sites to Celtic Mitsubishi for vehicle launches to help it interact with customers in a different way in a different environment.
‘When the vehicles are out and about in the open they have a lot more relevance. We’re an outdoorsy super-luxury company trying to find creative ways that we can work together,’ added Mark.
