Tesla CEO Elon Musk delivered five new cars to customers in London on Saturday at an event to welcome the arrival of right hand drive (RHD) Model S in the UK. (Full story)

Skoda’s worldwide deliveries grew 15.2% in May to 91,200 vehicles (May 2013: 79,100), making this May the best in corporate history and the ninth month in a row of continuous growth. (Full story)


The new MINI Hatch looks set to broaden its appeal with the introduction of a new range-topping diesel engine: the MINI Cooper SD 3-door Hatch. (Full story)

Mazda Motor Corporation has announced that the upcoming all-new Mazda2 will feature the SKYACTIV-D 1.5, a newly developed 1.5-litre clean diesel engine making use of the company’s next-generation SKYACTIV technology. (Full story)


eConnect Cars, one of only a few all-electric chauffeuring services operating in London, has taken delivery of seven Nissan LEAFs, with a further 14 to be delivered during 2014. (Full story)

Land Rover has extended its support to the Born Free Foundation’s work in India by delivering a brand new Land Rover Freelander to the Satpuda Foundation, one of Born Free’s partner organisations in Central India, to carry out critical conservation work in the country’s central tiger reserves. Two new Toyota vehicles are making their Le Mans race weekend debut this week. Out on the track, Toyota Racing’s 1,000hp TS040 Hybrid will contesting the 24-hour race for the first time, while deep in the official camp site, the PRO40, a special camper conversion, will be put to the test as a home-from-home for a team of journalists. Kia Motors has begun volume production of its new all-electric Kia Soul EV for export sales. A landmark in Kia’s history, the zero-emissions Soul EV is Kia’s first electric vehicle to be marketed by the company outside Korea. (Full story) 


The Volkswagen Group delivered 4.11 (January-May 2013: 3.87; +6.3 per cent)* million vehicles from January to May. The company handed over 864,600 (May 2013: 816,300; +5.9 per cent)* units to customers in May(Full story)

Ford has provided a fleet of 200 new Ford Transit Custom vans to National Grid for use by its engineers maintaining the gas supply network. (Full story)
