Nathaniel Cars organised a fun-filled weekend that also saw its new car wash – named after Managing Director Wayne Griffiths’s five-year-old grandson Max – and tyre bay opened for business.
Elbow grease was the order of the day for players Richard Hibbard, James Hook and Ian Evans as they got stuck in with jets and brushes in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, and they were happy to chat to customers and sign autographs as well. Volunteers from the charity were there with merchandise over the three days. A total of £361 was raised, and the volunteers said they were just as pleased to be able to raise awareness of the disease and how the MNDA can help.
An animal farm proved a great hit with youngsters, with tractors, a quad bike and straw bales adding to the whole farm atmosphere.
There was also a free barbecue plus prize draw giveaways that included a signed Welsh football shirt, and Sales Executive Richard Harris really got into the Welsh spirit of things by dressing up as a red dragon – in scorching temperatures – to entertain the children, who also enjoyed sitting and colouring in Mitsubishi vehicle template sheets in the showroom.
The dealership, in David Street, was well and truly flying the Mitsubishi 40th-anniversary flags on the forecourt, and helium balloons were also used to decorate everywhere, with special offers for people buying new and used vehicles.
There was a good turnout from the South Wales Lancer Evo Forum among the car clubs there, while local accountants David Wright Accountants also had representatives present to help customers with company car tax enquiries – very handy with the Outlander PHEV’s significant tax advantages.
Commenting on how well the event went, Wayne said: ‘After 40 years I’ve learnt that basics still work well. Communicate with customers, invite them into your business, treat them well, let them see who you are and what you do to continue to build strong relationships. This positive relationship will bring rewards over time.’
