We’re continually told by the car makers that the MPV market is dead, as yet another manufacturer exits the sector, and usually replaces the model with a much more fashionable SUV. But Mercedes-Benz doesn’t appear to have received the memo, as it has just replaced its B-Class with an all-new third generation model, sharing a platform with the A-Class and CLA, with a whole host of other models set to make use of it in the future, including a new GLA and the GLB previewed in the news pages this month.

The wheels look a touch too small. Gear selector not as robust as on previous models. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto costs extra.
