JLR to pay drivers for road condition information

Drivers will be able to earn cryptocurrency and make payments on the move using innovative connected car services being tested by Jaguar Land Rover. Using ‘Smart Wallet’ technology, owners earn credits by enabling their cars to automatically report useful road condition data such as traffic congestion or potholes to navigation providers or local authorities. Drivers could then redeem these for rewards such as coffee, or conveniently use them to automatically pay tolls, parking fees and for smart charging electric vehicles. ‘Smart Wallet’ removes the need for drivers to hunt for loose change or sign up to multiple accounts to pay for a variety of everyday services.

JLR puts its diesel emissions to the test with AIR Index

Jaguar Land Rover has become the first car maker to submit new cars from its Jaguar and Land Rover ranges for independent on-road emissions testing and rating for inclusion in the AIR Index. A simple A-to-E colour-coded rating shows the difference between clean and dirty vehicles.

InMotion’s Carpe offers Jags and Land Rovers via new subscription model

Carpe is a new, all-inclusive car subscription service offering customers hassle-free access to brand new Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. The service is aimed at high-mileage UK residents who spend many hours a week driving. They can sign up to Carpe, and subscribe to driving a brand new Jaguar or Land Rover for 12 months with no deposit. Carpe allows subscribers to get a new car every year and the vehicle specifications can be tailored to meet individual needs, with no restrictions on mileage. The vehicle, servicing, maintenance, insurance, roadside assistance and delivery is included in the all-inclusive, unlimited motoring package cost.
