Kia’s European sales hit the half million mark in 2019

Kia Motors has achieved annual sales of more than half a million cars in Europe for the first time, according to new data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA). Kia’s total annual sales of 502,845 units in Europe represents a sales increase of +1.7 per cent, and the brand’s 11th consecutive year of growth. Last year the brand also achieved an all-time-high 3.2 per cent market share across European Union and European Free Trade Area countries.

New Crossover model to join the Kia Ceed range

Kia is set to welcome a new arrival to the Ceed model family later this year, the Ceed Crossover. Gregory Guillaume, Vice President of Design for Kia Motors Europe, explains: “There’s another style, another type of vehicle, that we feel very strongly deserves to be a new member of the Ceed family. It will the play the role that’s needed to make the Ceed range stronger and even more exciting, more appealing, to European consumers. The design will be nothing like you’ve seen in the Ceed family so far. This will be the next big surprise from Kia.”

All-new Kia Ceed debuts at London Motor Show

The all-new Kia Ceed is making its UK debut at the London Motor Show ahead of its on-sale date from 1 August this year. The Ceed will be displayed on the World Car of the Year stand at ExCel London from the 17-20 May.

Kia makes three-millionth car in Europe

Kia Motors has manufactured its three millionth car in Europe since production began in Žilina, Slovakia in 2006. The three millionth car to roll off the production line is a Kia cee’d. The car is a fusion white five-door hatchback in ‘GT-Line’ specification, built for a customer in Iceland. It is fitted with a 1.0-litre T-GDi (Turbo Gasoline-Direct injection) engine.
