Summer update for the Kia Sportage

With the start of summer just weeks away, Kia is making a series of updates to its Sportage range, with a new streamlined four trim level line-up. The company says that the most significant change is the introduction of a new ‘3’ grade, joining ‘2’, ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ specifications.

Kia’s European sales hit the half million mark in 2019

Kia Motors has achieved annual sales of more than half a million cars in Europe for the first time, according to new data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA). Kia’s total annual sales of 502,845 units in Europe represents a sales increase of +1.7 per cent, and the brand’s 11th consecutive year of growth. Last year the brand also achieved an all-time-high 3.2 per cent market share across European Union and European Free Trade Area countries.

Kia UK sales hit the million mark

In 1991 the Korean brand was launched and 1,786 cars were sold in the UK – last year, 2018, the company hit another record sales volume of 95,764 bringing its overall total since that first Pride to 998,069

Diesel mild-hybrid powertrain for updated Kia Sportage

Kia Motors has revealed the new Sportage, introducing a range of enhancements to the brand’s UK, European and global best-seller. The new model pairs an updated exterior and interior design with new safety and infotainment technologies. Powertrains are also fully-compliant with future emissions standards.

Kia makes three-millionth car in Europe

Kia Motors has manufactured its three millionth car in Europe since production began in Žilina, Slovakia in 2006. The three millionth car to roll off the production line is a Kia cee’d. The car is a fusion white five-door hatchback in ‘GT-Line’ specification, built for a customer in Iceland. It is fitted with a 1.0-litre T-GDi (Turbo Gasoline-Direct injection) engine.
