Top five-star safety rating for the Skoda Scala

The Skoda Scala has received the highest rating of five stars in its comprehensive test by the independent European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). This puts it among the safest vehicles in its category, with top marks for the protection of adult occupants and cyclists.

Order books open for the Skoda Scala

Order books for the all-new Skoda Scala are now open. Skoda says the new hatchback “showcases a dramatic evolution of the brand’s design language, introduces a host of comfort and safety technologies, and delivers sector-best rear passenger space and practicality”

Summer debut for the Skoda Scala

Skoda has announced details for the all-new Scala hatchback, which is set to arrive in the UK in the summer. The new Scala introduces what Skoda describes as “a striking evolution of Skoda’s celebrated design language along with a host of all-new infotainment systems and host of engineering and safety innovations”. The Scala is the first Skoda to be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 platform.

Scala – Skoda names its new compact hatch

Following on from the first silhouette images, Skoda reveals the name of its new model – the Skoda Scala. The name derives from the Latin word ‘scala’ which means ‘stairs’ and the Czech car manufacturer says it is a step forward for it in the compact hatch segment. The Scala is the first Skoda production model in Europe to carry the Skoda name in lettering across the centre of the tailgate and replaces the Skoda logo.
