Order books open for the all-electric Vauxhall Corsa-e

The Vauxhall Corsa, one of Britain’s most popular cars, is going electric, and is now available for reservation. Vauxhall describes the Corsa-e as the flag-bearer for a completely new Corsa range, based on Vauxhall’s CMP Multi-Energy Platform.

Vauxhall readies next Corsa – including electric model – for summer launch

Vauxhall’s all-new fifth generation Corsa is close to the end of development, “primed to become the most efficient Corsa ever after undergoing extensive testing and tuning”. The company says its engineers have used the long polar winters in Swedish Lapland for intensive testing on frozen lakes and on snow-covered roads. Pre-production cars have been lapping the test tracks at the test centre for handling tuning, and the car has undergone electrical tests in the laboratory.

Vauxhall has released a teaser image of the all-new Corsa featuring its new IntelliLux LED headlights, which it says will be a segment first.The company says the fifth-generation Corsa will take EV motoring into the mainstream with a battery electric model in the range for the first time, as well as internal combustion engine variants

Vauxhall will embark on an electric-focused technology drive, which it says will transform its range over the next two years at a similar rate to its first heady days as a car manufacturer at the start of the last century.
